Sorry meant euros.

And it will be a loss.

The striker merry go round has begun.

I'll be surprised if Arsenal finish in the top 4 this year unless they spend very well, reckon Spurs have a great chance if they get a good start.

Shit news for the Premiership.
Agreed, one of the most entertaining players to watch in the premiership. Never enjoyed watching a player so much as Henry during Arsenal's unbeaten run.

Well I honestly though Henry would be staying at Arsenal. This changed everything now, for where I think they will finish this coming season.

I don't think talks will stumble. I wonder if this means Eto'o comes to Arsenal.

westboy
22-06-2007, 18:33
Most likely, would be quite easy to use him as a bargaining tool knowing Arsenal will obviously need a replacement.

boro_boy
22-06-2007, 18:38
I know but if they are in London in talks, they will come back with a Signature.

Ronaldo

£16m is a bargain considering Barca "claimed" they had a £50m bid turned down last summer. Bad news for the Premiership - but hopefully we'll get a decent replacement for one of the greats.

westboy
22-06-2007, 18:43
I don't think 16m is a bargain give the fact it looks like he has peaked but not bad either

Ronaldo
22-06-2007, 21:24
Barca will see £16m a bargain as they were willing to pay 50m, henry's still a great player when fully fit. It's virtually a done deal..bbc reporting that he is expected to sign a 4 year deal tommorow.

I'm so glad he is going, he will win more things at Barca anyway :hahaha:

Well, that is slightly obvious, is it not? :hahaha: We wouldn't want him anyway.

yeah, fair one, he's too old. He will only have a few years left in him and for 16 million thats not very good!!

Not the fact that he isn't a good player or his age, because I admit he is a brilliant player, but it's because he played for the scum. Not only that, he won them a few titles, the bastard.

What the hell are you on about; it says Bayern Munich or Juventus on your profile yet your favourite club is Barcelona? And how do you get Boca Juniors and Barcelona mixed up?

So...it's finally happening, Henry has announced he's signing for Barca. Well I say good luck to him. He's right as regards Wenger seeing out his contract and leaving poor Henry behind so he's getting out now. The Gooners are crumbling, don't you agree??:hahaha:

Argh! I was off on my way out last night to have some fun and just before I left my door, my bro shouted "HENRY IS LEAVING!". I spent the rest of the night depressed as they had sky sports news on in the pub and looped footage of his career with Arsenal

It feels so bad, saddening to see him go because I feel he has a special passion with the club and it has ended this way for him.
BIG respect for him still though and don't question his departure and wish him all the best with his time at Barca. I think every Arsenal fan can happily say a big thankyou for all hes done at the club.

One of the best players English football has seen and I'm glad he portrayed that with an Arsenal shirt.

I'm off to watch some collabs of him on youtube

You did alright without him this season when he was injured. Someone made the point on the radio that no Arsenal player (with one exception) has left Arsenal and gone onto bigger things, apart from maybe Steve Sidwell but that doesn't really count...

Thats the positive thing we've got to remember, well Arsenal fans that is. However, I'm more worried that there still more to this, hopefully it doesn't create a domino effect and lead to more people involved with Arsenal to leave.

I agree, Henry has been a legend. And it's so nice that he was humble with it. He never created to many waves in his time in the EPL did he

Who do you think is going to take over from Wenger then? Sven (wouldn't be a bad choice, has an excellent club record). Gus Hiddunk seems to get linked to every big club....

Why would he want to? He's more likely to go abroad if he leaves Chelsea or to a bigger club (like erm. man utd:nodyes:)

Stuart Pearce for me. Great attitude, lionheart spirit can instill some ENGLISHNESS into Arsenal.

So what do you gooners think then?

Word is wenger will go for Anelka which I think will be a great signing for us.

Thoughts?

Oh and how great is it we wont have henry as captain anymore :eusa_clap:

The arsenal demise has begun.. especially if wenger leaves aswell.. what you left with now, the kids

we can safely say arsenal wont be challenging for the title next season..

He was obviously a much better player when he wasnt captain, he didnt have the pressure on him, and he carried an injury from the world cup.
i think you'll be okay as you've coped when bergkamp, Wright etc all left.
Wenger is mad tho, in the last 2 years he's let Pires, Vieira and Henry go, those 3 were your essential players in the run.

Nafe

Gilberto is bound to be the captain now on.

We need to bring in some talent to help fill Henry's position and strengthen Ljunberg's place.

Just had a thought

Henry 16 million

Darren Bent 17 million

Is Bent better or then or what

Arsenal could have got alot more money for him

We kicked ourself in the leg money wise, don't know how we didn't get more than 25 million for him..

Because he's 29. I think 16 million is a realistic price. It's tough to see one of your legends go. Ours was Larsson, Laudrup at Rangers, Cantona at Man united, etc etc. But Arsenal will be back and strong at some stage, challenging for the premiership.

I 'spose so, however, I'm not sure if thats the full price, the price is around 16 million supposedly. Anyway, hopefully we'll see something great from the money.

well 12 month too late
barca might have won the league & maybe even lasted longer if not won the UCL
with etoo & messi missing for large parts of the season, Henry would have flourished
well better late than never
i cant wait to see ronnie, etoo, messi & henry mix up
someone has to drop off or only 3 will play
ronnie can stay behind in middle, as a playmaker
henry & messi on each flank & etoo up front
great to know that barca are close to capturing yaya toure from moncao for 6millions
& are in negotians for Roma defender Chivu
several other players are expected to leave or be offloaded, of those rumored
motta, edmilson, belletti, gio, silvinho, gudjohnsen, guily

What are your thoughts on Gudjohnsen? is he suited to Spanish football or more English football?

Caesarius
24-06-2007, 01:45
I think Gudjohnsen did alright at Barca. He's more suited for England though. He should return to the Prem unless he seeks a move elsewhere.
