Was just wondering what everyones feeling were on Gordan Smith. I think it can only be good for our game to have him in charge. Since he has actually played the game. One of the first plans on his agenda should be to allow junior teams passage into the league if they are promoted through their respective leagues. This could help clear all the mince from the bottom of the third division who seem to be stuck at the bottom for years. Some new blood is what we need for starters. And I think he should push to have both league cups merged into one British cup with the winner gaining a European place.

Despite him being an out and out bluenose some of his ideas are OK. I think Rangers will benefit most from him so nothing new there. I'm not so sure junior teams being allowed into the league will improve it. The biggest Junior sides only attract tiny crowds. But 3 have been allowed into this years Scottish cup which is good(nothing to do with Smithy). I don't think the 'British cup' has much support down there. And I certainly wouldn't want to see it happen.

I think it would be good to show the English how competetitive we can be. Aside from the big four down there there aren't any teams who would be difficult to beat.

remember its only the league cup it dosent mean anything anyway. so it might be a good idea to merge the two league cups. it would be interesting
