Just wondered if anyone knows who was the first British team to win a European Trophy?

I know the answer but does anyone else?

glentoran fc won the vienna cup in 1914 which i think later went on to become the old fairs cup

Correct! St Mirren played in the Barcelona Cup. They beat Notts County I think it was making them the first team to win a European trophy. Not that it means anything. Probably something like the Kirin Cup that Scotland won. St Mirren still have the trophy, they never gave it back lol

Out of curiosity when did st mirren win this as i work with loads of glenmen and it would be good to fuck them up once and for all.

the glens are glentoran fc from east belfast and they play in the irish league.

West Auckland were the first team to win the first Club Word Cup Competition.

They traveled to Turin in 1909 to compete in the Sir Thomas Lipton Trophy.

They beat Stuttgarter Sportfreunde 2-0 in the semi, and FC Winterthur 2-0 in the final.

They returned in 1911 to win it again, beating FC Zurich 2-0 in the semi, and Juventus 6-1 in the final.
