Seen this on the Sheffield United site and its a good idea.

Would you like to see the winners of the FA Cup awarded a place in the Champions League, instead of the team that finishes fourth in the Premiership?

No that wouldnt work - teams like Liverpool would go for the cup compeititons instead of the league. 4th place has earned that position over a whole season - not a couple of games. It only seems like the Top 4 that win the final now anyway.

Let's guess what BB was doing looking on a Sheff Utd site...

I don't see need to change it, firstly the FA Cup winner usually does finish in the top 4, but even the Champions League should be about the best teams in Europe not plucky under-dogs who have had a great cup run and won. I know it's 'ifs' but it would have been a joke having West Ham in the champions league this year had they won the FA Cup (and they weren't far away).

I know forums like this thrive on people talking about new ideas but what's wrong with our representatives for the CL at the moment, we got 3 teams to the semi-finals FFS!

Also it's pretty clear a system where you play 38 games is better than one where you play 8 games.

Yeah, I only mentioned it as I seen it on the Sheffield United page that I "accidently" went on lol. Do you think they should only let 1 team from each of the top leagues in Europe. As its status, the Champions League is a little bit of a lie!!

No not really. Chelsea, Barcelona and other teams who finished 2nd in the major leagues are probably better than the teams like Rosenburg etc. (Don't know if they won their league but you get my point).

Again I think it's fine as it is. Fans of big clubs here get to see matches cheaply when they play the smaller clubs who get a 'day out' and you also get to see the best teams in Europe go head to head.
