I personally dont think hed ever establish himself as an England defender altho hes quality. Sad to say but hed never have Rio or Terry on the bench

He is definitely better that King or Ferdinand in the centre back position.

It would be quite the loss if he decides to retire from international football.

I wouldnt say he was better than Rio - better than Terry but Terry is the captain. He's just as essential to you as gerrard is but he's been played out of position a lot for Engand which is a shame as he's a great player.

All this stuff about players retiring is bollocks anyway he's just trying to put pressure on McClaren to pick him. Players can't retire, if he is picked to represent his country he will do and if he doesn't turn up he'll miss the next league game.

fuck england, he plays in the champions league year in and year out and then watches injury prone players walk into the team ahead of him. Pointless wasting your energy and time. I'm glad as it prolong his Liverpool career anyway.
