Should the Premier League have Salary caps in force? It sounds like a good idea but it could kill of the game in the sense that moving to England would mean lower wages. So the Italian and Spanish leagues would prosper with players choosing not to go to England over player for more money in the Spanish and Italian leagues.
Some players such as Frank Lampard are on 140,00 per week. The best thing to do is reduce the wages to a maximum of 10,000 per week and then but the player on a pay per performance where they can earn more money the better they play. Getting bonuses for goals and assits.
If a full wage cap system was going to be put in place it would have to be a European system or a world wide system or it just wouldn't work.

a world thing it would have to be, but it would only be of use if ticket prices were to drop, other wise what would be the point of it
Excellent idea but we'll have to dissolve the EU parliament first.

I tink it would work, i mean it does in RL, why not football. Although saying that isnt there a big problem with Wigan St Helens and Bradford all going over theres last season and therefore could have a points deduction. THerefore doesnt always work.
It would stop all the greed.
Don't know anything about RL but if they do get a points deduction then surely is shows that it does work, as that'll be a deterrant in the future.

Not sure about that because you have to remember that football's a team game. What about goalkeepers? Some of the best goalkeeping performances are when the 'keeper only concedes one goal but don't get their cs bonus.
If anything I'd like to see players rewarded for being part of a winning team, as it is a team game but then some players, like Watford's played really well and above their potential yet never seemed to get results.
If they say the most you can play a footballer is say £2m a year (just under £40k a week) then players who are already on that salary will have their wages reduced because you can't have everyone being paid the same amount in a team. I know it's still alot of money but you have to do these things gradually.
They should also makes sure that the money goes into making it cheaper for the fans to watch football and reduce the amount of money tv companies can pay for the rights, so you don't have to sell your house to get a sky subscription.
All this of course is totally hypothetical and will never happen, but it's a nice idea. The main problem is that as you say it would have to happen all over Europe and it never will. Very few managers seem to care about this as fans are still willing to pay so there is no apparent problem.

Made me giggle that did :nodyes:
But, the club has to get the money from somewhere, and unfortunately, it comes from fans, TV companies and all that kinda crap.
