Did anyone see his diving today? If not watch match of the day, i was going to punch the TV today when he was awarded a penalty, fair enough at first it looked like a penalty but the replay shows a dive.
Then about 5 min later he dives again and gets a free kick, luckily nothing came from it. Anyway United were the better team and deserved the win, we didn't play that badly, we are just not as good as United.

I went bloody balistic with the cheating little portuguese twat... that wasnt the only dive he did in the match, he is a ****ing disgrace to the game... if a player was to snap his legs, whoeveer it would be would be my new hero...

the pen, i cant decide on that, the keeper went in with to feet and if he didnt jump and dive the keeper would have taken him out and caused injury,

Football is an emotional game, emotions get high and when something goes unfairly against you then obviously you're going to be frustrated and take it out on somebody.
Like I said on FC, the ref can't see if ronaldo has dived. All he sees is Schwarzer going in on Ronaldo. I'm not sticking up for Ronny btw, he shouldn't be diving :mad:

Haven't seen it yet but I'm just hoping United get a non-league team in the 3rd round and some tougheded up centre back tries to get attention and finishes his career. It's in the best interest of the game, he's a very talented player but he's wasted his talent. Hopefully it would stop other players from cheating.
I wonder if manu fans would ever boo him, it may be the one thing that would stop him...it worked with Drogba!

The replay clearly shows there was NEGATIVE contact between the two players, Even the BBC website said it was a foul. Are some people to scared to just admit the truth.

He is renowned for Diving, he needs to be taken care of. Maybe his legs broken "Accidently" of course, but to me thats the only way hes going to stop diving.

wow i just watched the second one, he gets lots of dirty fouls on him, it always the same but everone says he dives i dont think he does that much but who doesnt, at least he dont dive as much as chelsea/arsenal players

Yes, i think they should act Professinally, and say, yeah fair enough that wasn't a foul ref, as they are "Professional Footballers" Well apparently they are, they get enough money per week from the fans, for them to be at the least, honest.
It's trying to gain an advantage anyway you can. Is it bad for defenders to claim a goalkick when they know it's a corner?
And really what's worse, a dive or a bad foul?

Can get a player a 2nd Yellow so he's sent off.
Can give the other team a dangerouse free kick.
Can give the other team a penalty.
Can get the player whos diving abuse and possible attack from opposition supporters.
Dangerous Foul
Can injure a player

Ronaldo hadn't seriously dived up until Saturday. Since the world cup he's come back twice as good as he was last season.

You can't really compare bad tackles to diving, sure if I were a player I'd rather see someone dive and me concede a penalty than someone break my legs, and frankly an intentional bad tackle is worse than a dive. It's cheating and it's harmful. Diving is "only" cheating.
That said bad tackles are sometimes done when a player is actually trying to get the ball. Look how Rooney was injured against Chelsea.
Refs do do something when players "kick the shit out of" Ronaldo. Someone put some statistics up saying he's the most fouled player...

Like the boy that cried wolf, had Ronaldo accidentally slipped(which I doubt)few would believe it because he has always been a diver. But he is one of many now. It has become a part of the game unfortunately.

People don't, but as I said in another thread, you've got to get a balance between safe tackling and not putting players off tackling whist we've just got to get diving out of the game completely

I can't think of any players who do that regularly in the modern-day Premiership?
Those who do it as a one-off get punished accordingly.
