Style Changes

I have decided to make the blue style on the forum as the default. I know a lot of people didn't like the green style but thats not the reason why i'm changing it. Its just got too old, we've had it for over 1 1/2 years now and even the blue style will not last long.

During August, I will be creating a new style for the forum, with help from a few other people off this site. The blue style is a nice style and much fresher than the green one.

I don't know what colour the new style will be. The old styles will be still available on the forums but they will not be getting updated. Just the new style will be getting updated.

fixed it i cleared all cookie's etc and logged in again and presto seems fine

Well I'm making the original vbulletin style the default one for the time being, I might keep the style wide also.

Well, I think so, from what I have heard from the members the past few months, they don't really like the green style, so i've made this one the default one, however you can still choose the green style.

I'm not sure how long I will keep the old styles on the site for, probably till the end of the year as they won't be getting updated. Unless craig or someone else wants to update them.

They have to be at the top of the site.

All you have to do to move them is remove the code $tla_ads They have to be given a total of 700 pixels wide as there is room set for another 2 ad spaces. KEEP THEM AT THE TOP

Cliffy recommended the colours, never looked right at first but now I think it goes perfectly.

I think the top would look better if the edges between the logo and the top of the page (bottom right of the logo) where rounded like the top of the logo. And also the top right of the header that should be rounded also.

Well it's just the kind of style that every other crappy forum has. Now it doesn't stand out or anything. Looks bog standard.

Well a lot of people were never happy with the green style but I kept it on the forum for over 4 years. I think it was 4!! 3 or 4 anyway. People were telling me to get rid of it, go blue, go blue they were saying. I just said I like the green, as it does stand us out from the rest.

But I was getting bored with it and a few people were still saying they didn't like the green style so I decided to make the vbulletin original style, the default style. Cliffy made a new banner, and buttons for the site. Which I personally think look really good and professional.

There is stil a bit more to do on the style like fill in the postbits with your gender and points that you have and no doubt I will be making a few minor changes to the forums as we go along just to make it different from the others.

We still stand out with out new logo and the colour (the dark blue background colour) so our identity has not been lost!! Fair enough we have really changed the sites identity, but we have to keep changing the site every few years to keep up fresh and to avoid going state!!

I know a lot of sites whom don't change there style and they are pretty dire. They have had the same style for over 3 years (just like we have) and the people simply get bored and they fancy a change so they go elsewhere. We have overcome that problem by making the site look fresh as ever.

Overall the feedback on the new style is all positive. Its easy on the eyes, its very clean and its back to blue, the original colour of MFF, yes we were blue, then we went green.

I think I know why the images are different shades of colours on IE. Its the way it handles png files. I think you will have to make it a gif or jpg cliffy.
