View Full Version : Organ Donations
Joined up thinking at last coming from the government. Given most people don't bother filling out organ donation cards but would actually donate their organs if they had to chose, they're talking about having an opt-out card where if you don't want your organs donated you say.

I think that's a good idea. It would be better to have opt-out option instead of the currently used opt-in option. More so in countries were there is universal health care. You're already benefiting from the system, it should be the standard that your organs be donated, to the benefit of other in society, unless you have opted out.

Yeah thats a much better Idea. My mate, well work collegue :) lol, says he doesn't want to give his body organs to people when he dies!!! I said why? They are no good when your dead!! Give them to people, he just said "no". I though, "what a fucking dick" there are people dying for organs and his organs could save someones life!!
I'll admit i've not got an organ donation card but I would 100% give my organs to other people when I die.

Freaky, but surely that's better than DYING!
Can't believe on the news people are saying 'it's not up to the government to decide what happens to our organs' - what a pillock, no-one ever said it was everyone still has the right to chose, you just have to opt out.
If you don't feel strongly enough to about NOT saving someone's life, to write out a card, you don't deserve choice!

Its not coming from the government. It's coming from the head of the BMI. I think there would have to be some serious safeguards with this one. I'm not sure I'd trust doctors enough.

I wouldnt trust anyone!!
Yeah I realised that but I think the government are backing it. SA I don't agree with you, but you still got to respect that it would save lives and at the same time you could still opt-out of it
