i'd rather see scholes play for england than beckham. Scholes has a good sense of the game, so what if he can't tackle. There are many world class midfielders that you never see engage in defensive play.

I wasn't comparing them like that, Beckham is past it whilst I think Scholes still has something to offer, although won't make the next WC his experience would surely be valuable in this qualifying campaign which we are struggling with

So what if Scholes can't tackle, that's not his job! He's not Roy Keane, he's Paul Scholes, and he's an attacking player who's great at passing the ball.

About Beckham, again, his role isn't to run all around the pitch tackling people and pulling off sick moves like Ronaldinho or something, his job is to provide good crosses off of the right, take good long shots when he gets a chance to and take free kicks. And anybody who watched the World Cup would see that he can still do all that, and do it well.

Clearly you're on either a piss poor windup or your some no mark who hasn't got a clue about football. I would go for both.

Scholes was one of the best players in the world in his prime probably only second to Zidane and he's the main reason we're doing so well this season.

While his regularity of goals might not be there his passing ability, his intelligence on the ball, his ability to control a game and the tempo and workrate is unbelievable.
