Mido flogged for £6Mil

Quote:
The thought that Tottenham had found a club willing to take Mido on loan was hilarious enough, but now, news that Tottenham have a 6m deal in place to sell Mido is just too much to ignore.

Ok, ok, so maybe Mido is not as bad as he has shown so far. Maybe he just hasn’t settled in properly in England.

But the transfer fee, and the logic of buying Mido for a newly promoted club like Birmingham is beyond me.

It’s a risk - and the fact that Birmingham are newly promoted makes it even riskier - why splash 6m on a striker who has flopped in the Premiership?

At this point, the 5.5m purchase of Richardson and 5m buy of Chopra by Sunderland comes to mind. There is one difference though: Chopra has scored goals in England (albeit in the Championship) while Richardson, when he’s played regularly, has shown ’some’ signs of being a half-decent player (and the fact that his manager has trained with him previously explains the price, a bit).

But Mido? 6m?

Tottenham fans must be pissing themselves.

Sorry if this offends you, but there’s really no other way to take this one.

a bit harsh,but mainly true

Well he might just need the right type of service for him to score the goals. Yeah its a risk, but you have to take risks in todays game.

I think he done well for you in his first season on loan, but when you signed him he seemed to put on weight and have his feet up.

6 Million is a bit steep though.

8 Mido goals = £750,000 per goal
8 Bent goals = £2,000,000 per goal

16 Mido goals = £375,000 per goal
16 Bent goals = £1,000,000 per goal

32 Mido goals = £187,500 per goal
32 Bent goals = £500,000 per goal

I don't know what the actual cost of a Premiership goal is, but I am sure that Bent's goals will end up being more expensive than Mido's.

well i always thought he was decent striker but had a terrible attitude. Mido has done alright when I've seen him for Spurs - he should do well for a promoted team.

Why should the fans even give a toss about the money a player makes? But I'll say 32 Mido goals is a longshot yes:
