Just heard it, Boro want to talk with Alan Smith, and it looks like united will let them,
I think he's a great player, plays with a lot of passion, it will be sad news for us if he goes, but great news for boro
What do you think, Good news for Boro?
We already agreed a fee for him about a month ago. £6m. Smith wanted to find out if Fergie still wanted him but it looks like he doesn't now. I'm not sure about Smith. His goal record isn't exactly great. Has he even scored 100 goals in his career?
Maybe he'll be good, maybe he won't. Just have to wait and see.

He's been injured a lot though. Would be good to have another striker for when our other strikers have goal droughts.

It'll be a good buy for boro if we got him, we agreed a fee for him but then smith said he wanted to stay at man utd to prove himself but he might have changed his mind now. Anyway I hope we do get him he'll be a good buy if he stays clear of injuries.
He banged them in for leeds but then he came to man utd and well .. he got injured a lot.

the vast majority of those he came on as a substitute with 15-20 minutes left. Besides, something is better than nothing.
I thought this was a done deal like a month ago?

Obviously not, I think we will eventually get him as he has no future at Manchester United any more.

I stand corrected :icon_redface:... although it's actually 45, he's been subbed off 37 ... but that doesn't matter. You're right
Oh I know he's been subbed off 45 times in his whole career just was referring to Leeds.
Smith is a decent player but he'll never get you the goals.

64 gls in 249 apps in his total career.
I change my mind, nothing to get too excited about.
Still, he might be a decent buy for boro, never know.
Manchester United and Alan Smiths agent deny letting boro talk to him, but boro are still hopeful.
Good player but I think he's one of those who's career has been wrecked through injury. Will never be as good as he was with Leeds.
Which wasn't that good.
Oh deary.:(
