iverpool Football Club today unveiled stunning new designs for their stadium in Stanley Park, coinciding with the submission of the official planning application to Liverpool City Council.
Scheduled to open in 2010, the 60,000 seat stadium has been designed to allow for future expansion which could see the capacity increased to the high seventies dependent on improvements to the local transport infrastructure.

The central importance of the Kop has also been recognised with a hugely increased capacity to 18,000 seats in a single tier stand.

The stadium represents an investment of around £300 million by the Club in North Liverpool.

I'm confused to why they have a big glass window looking right onto the pitch, surley people will be watching through it without paying.

It does look very modern though, I like it :)

Seriously, these architects are fucking barmy.

They should be built for harmonics not some kind of weird arty reason. It looks more like an airport than a football ground.

Well i personally think it looks awesome, I don't see the need for Kiko to post 3 times saying he dislikes it TBH, but there you go.

They say the new stadium has the ability for them to easily increase the capacity to 80,000, why not just make it 80,000 anyway?!

I think some of the criticism of the stadium is a bit harsh, I can see what kiko meant about an airport.

Well luckily I don't post for your benefit. Maybe next time I'll run it past you what I'm going to post though eh.

To see if they sell out what they build.

+Probably better having a stadium at whatever it is and build the cash up for the following extension.

It obviously looks extremely fantastic, but I must agree that it does look more like a business building rather than a stadium.

Due to the design I think in 10-15 years time it will look ridiculous and be a huge eyesore.... I already think it does, but that's my biased view.

Its not just arty, they have made sure the stadium isn't just another crappy bowl stadium, they have made all the stands separate and distinctive specially a big fuck kop, I love the new stadium but its the inside where they have listened to the fans viewed and thank god they did.
