The current rumours is that Alan Smith and Bains will be the last 2 summer signings for another less than 5 signings for the blues

Apparently Bainesy is wanting to come to Everton after rejecting a move to Sunderland when the clubs agreed a £6m fee. We'll wait and see if he joins Nugent and Koumas on the list of players who wanted to come to Everton, but for whatever reason didn't make it.
Sunderland boss Roy Keane says: "Football is a small world and you hear things through the grapevine. I just got the impression that Leighton had his heart set on a move to Everton. I don't blame him for that." When I left Manchester United, it didn't matter which team came in for me I was always going to go to Celtic.
