So this is the moment we've all been waiting for- David Beckham is coming to Canada for his first MLS league game. :red: Pity that he isn't playing for us, but oh well. It really couldn't come at a worse time, though, we have a lot of starters injured. Ronnie O'Brien (attacking midfield), Jeff Cunningham (striker), and Marvell Wynne (defense) who have been our three best players, aside from Danny Dichio, are all going to miss the game, and probably will be out for at least another month. The players who have stepped in have been something less than spectacular, as well. Dichio got maybe one good cross from the midfielders in the last game, and when he headed it over to Collin Samuel he pulled a Crouch and totally missed the ball. It's also looking like Mo Johnston made a big mistake when he traded left back Kevin Goldthwaite to New York for Todd Dunivant. Goldthwaite had great pace and made beautiful crosses. He was one of the best players on the team. Dunivant is lazy, he routinely leaves people unmarked on the left and can't pass worth sh*t.

So basically- I hate to say this, but I think we're gonna get our asses kicked on Sunday. Too many injuries, and the replacements who've come in like Tyrone Marshall and Dunivant are lazy and don't seem to care about winning.

I figure you'll put up a better fight than you did against the Fire. :thumbup1:

I saw the highlights this morning.... I was a shamed, would have hated being on the field

Regardless, the Toronto match will have a great atmosphere, more than usual!! I think Toronto will come out with a draw :animatedfear:

wonder if its being broadcast.

It's on CBC at 7:30 pm on Sunday, not sure if it's being shown in the US.

I just checked the soccertv site and it seems they've discontinued the listings for Canada, so I don't know. I'm not seeing it listed on any of the U.S. networks, which surprises me since they seem to have had nearly all of Beckham's matches on the schedule. (Good news, though, on Sunday I get to watch the Community Shield, Mexican and Argentina leagues!). As for Beckham, it will be interesting to check out his new show on Fox Soccer Channel: David Beckham's Soccer USA! :nodyes:

Yeah, Toronto looked awful on Sunday. Still, they've done far better than anyone reasonably expected this year (particularly considering how bloody awful they were those first four matches). :boat:

Yeah, aside from the four straight losses I think we've done pretty well... But yesterday was just an awful effort, Dichio and Samuel got like one decent ball all game, and Todd Dunivant and Tyrone Marshall were like pylons at the back. Like I said, trading Kevin Goldthwaite was a huge mistake, without him and now with O'Brien and Wynne injured, we have nobody who can cross to save their life.

Oh and I wanted to get tickets for the Beckham game but they were already sold out a couple weeks into the season, so I'm hoping to go and see if I can buy them off of a scalper.

Although, obviously, I want the Fire to finish ahead of you, I hope Toronto does well the rest of the way. The fans really have been great and deserve a good product. Hopefully DC United and the Red Bulls will slip to the bottom. :nodyes:
