Did you play the whole match?

domcassells

yes, i am the keeper, so was not affected by the subs. We had 2 portugese players who are on trial at the club playing for us, it was weird as they spoke no english, they had lots of talent, but kept getting knocked off the ball too easily, they'll have to learn that aspect of the english game.

a little conditioning would help them out too. You got to be strong to hold your own in the English game.

would you like to get in to the first team

yes of course, had training last night, there are 4 keepers at the club including me. 2 of them played for the club last year, and the other one played for Beconsfield. I played Saturday park League last year, so i have the least top flight experience, BUT, strangley i am the oldest at 24. I know the reserve team manager likes me, and feels comfortable with me at the back, so i might get the nod over the rest for that spot, obviously long term i wanna be in the 1st's but i might have to bide my time this year, and then have lot's more options from being spotted playing for the reserves.

when did you start playing football ?

er, i played since i could walk. I used to be a midfielder when i was younger, went to the Bobby Charlton Soccer school, and won best in age group. Been playing senior football, for 4 years. I left it late really.

the first team get paid weekly, the reserves get an expenses contract, i wont have to pay for anything, except my gloves, which are expensive and i need a lot

Yes mate, moved up a good few levels, played 30 mins last night in a 3-2 loss, very dissapointing, but we were without too many players

what was the line up

no-one you'd know, the reserves are mostly local lads, trying to get a break in the first team. Like myself really. Missed this weekend's games with a groin strain, the 1st team won  and the reserves lost.

Right actually played on Saturday, as the other keeper failed a late fitness test. it's the weirdest feeling having your name called out over a loudspeaker and it not be because your in trouble lol. we won 3-1 against Ash Utd. Tonight got a game against Bedfont Utd, so fingers crossed

haha, wish i'd have read this before the game, it finished 1-1, although i had hardly anything to do the whole game. I had the wrong boots on as my moulds split on saturday, so was on the studs, and they weren't taking, and i slipped as they headed back across my goal from a cross. if i'd have had my moulds on, i would have saved it. still top of the league though

How did you do. Hey didn't Les Ferdinand once play for Hayes.

domcassells
27-08-2007, 23:09
We drew 2-2, after being 2-0 down at half time. It was soo hot that day.
Les Ferdinand, played for what's now called Hayes and Yeading Utd. They are effectively 1 mile from our club and 2 divisions above us.

Started again on Saturday, 4th game in a row now, against Wingate and Finchley, who have an amazing pitch. Apparently they get a million pound investment every year ( in a affluent jewish area ) and the whole place was a pleasure to play at. They had just one 7-1 in their last game, so were going to be tough opposition. We went 1-0 after 5 minutes, and spent the rest of the game defending, i had to make a few saves, and defend lots of crosses. Unfortunately we couldn't see out the whole game and ended up drawing 1-1, for the 3rd game in a row, but still we haven't lost.
