Looks like Lampard will be out for the community shield and the start of the season. Seems that has a broken toe, picked up during the North America tour.

Is Ballack healthy? It would be interesting to see what he can do without Lampard in there. They don't seem to mix well together, at least from what I've seen.
This should mean Sidwell will get a chance, he seems to of been lively over in America. What formation are they probably playing this season?

I was really surprised that Sidwell went to Chelsea with that glut of midfielders, but you have to admire his confidence and his ambition. :eusa_clap:

...Or his greedyness by going to filthy rich Chelsea who surely offered him the most money :nodyes:

Lampard was terrible, I dont remember one bit of good play from him. The penalty summed him up really.

well, maybe the Lampard injury was over blown by the media cause he played today, but not well.
Currently Chelsea have the following players out with injuries:
Drogba
Sheva
Ballack (he needed a second surgery on his ankle, not that the first one was done bad, it just wasn't healing well- if that makes any sense - and he may be part of the Robben transfer to R.Madrid)
Terry - 4 weeks
Brigde - hip surgery this summer, don't know how long he will be out.
Makelele
Kalou
Robben (maybe, or just out while finalizing transfer deal with R.Madrid)

So, what other strikers do Chelsea have. That's one thing i thought they should pick up seeing how Drogbah is the only decent one(at least in EPL).

They have Pizarro (ex-Bayern Munich) and Sinclair. Out on loan they have Sahar (QPR) and Crespo ( with Inter, but I think was sold)
