Rangers boss Walter Smith has confirmed his interest in Portsmouth defender Dejan Stefanovic.

Stefanovic has dropped down the pecking order at Fratton Park this season and not featured so far this term.

Smith is still looking to add to his squad before the close of the transfer window and admits he is considering a move for Stefanovic.

"Stefanovic is one of a few players we are looking at and will continue to look at until the transfer window is closed," Smith told Rangers News.

"We have to continue to look for players for one or two positions where we feel we might be a little bit short.

"We have been looking at some players but it doesn't necessarily mean that we will act."
