I see Frank was about to sign for Queens Park the Scottish Div 2 team. Then someone mentioned they have never and still don't pay their players.
What a great tradition in this day and age

They're in division three and play at Hampden.
I honestly never knew they didn't pay their players.
I like Albion Rovers and they're rivals though. Queen's Park do well if this is the case. :icon_redface:

Hi Tim, no they are in Div 2, they are top at the moment, played 3 won 3.
Their motto is to play for the sake of playing. Formed in 1867. Never paid a player.

I forgot, they got promoted last season. I'm not on the ball today. :icon_redface:
As long as they hammer Airdrie on both occasions, I'm happy.
Anyway, my name's Connor. Tim is a type of slang for a Celtic supporter. I like Leeds also.
P.S. Queen's Park won the English FA Cup or at least played in the final on two occasions I believe.

You are right, they lost twice in the 1884 and 1885 finals, both against Blackburn Rovers.

I take it this was when he was a youngster? Queens Park are an amateur club, paying only expenses.

I don't think it was a serious post, it was meant as a dig at Frank Lampard's supposed demands at Chelsea wasn't it? Of course I could be reading far more into this than there is though.

Hi Darren, no after reading an article regarding Queens Park being the oldest club in Scottish football, with them also retaining their amateur status, I just found it refreshing in this day and age that a club had this great tradition.
I admire the players for playing in a very good standard of football obviously for the love of the game and the club badge.
It certainly wasn't a dig at Frank Lampard, but I don't think he would quite like the wage structure at Queens Park.
I hope the club continue in keeping the club tradition, I will certainly be following their fortunes this season. If I am visiting Scotland I will try to get to one of their games maybe.
