I wonder when Man U were last so far down.
Last relegated in 1973/74 season along with Norwich and Southampton. http://www.myfootballforum.com/images/smilies/roflmao.gif
They unfortunately bounced straight back in 74/75, finishing up 3rd the following season 75/76.
Their lowest finishing position since then was 13th in 1989/90. The year that Liverpool last won the top league.
Other teams that played in the league that year included, Millwall Sheff Wed and Charlton relegated, Luton, Palace, Coventry, QPR, Norwich, Forest, Wimbledon, and Southampton.
More significantly this was the year that the Mighty Leeds won the old Div 2, winning 1-0 at Bournemouth, sending Bournemouth down.
Leeds finished 4th in 90/91, and of course won the old Div 1 in 91/92, beating Sheffield United away 3-2, while Liverpool did the business beating the lot over the hill 2-0 at Anfield, Mr Rush one of the scorers.
Sorry for digressing, got carried away, good memories before senility and madness set in!

The Doc.
A lot of people said that season in div 2 was the most exciting they've ever had watching united.
Seeing this thread in the Utd forum, I thought it was going to be about the top 4
Chelsea
Man City
Wigan
Liverpool
You couldn't have made it worse for Manu fans!
You probably could.
Considering once again, it's after 4 games the league table is insignificant.

Its amazing how City can have a great start and united such a poor start its the complete opposite to last season.

Not really. The fact you've lost 5 points to Chelsea already is hardly insignificant. Could well turn out to be the points difference between 1st and 2nd at the end of the season. As for the Wigan/Man Citys, well Wigan have already given themselves a huge headstart in staying up, whilst Man City look like they could actually be a decent side under Sven.
Also which side would you have in the top 4 that would make it even worse?

Yes that's true I mean who would have expected a team like Middlesborough to be as high as they are.:hahaha: It's very early days yet.

If this was the league after 38 games the I'd be slightly unhappy:
Liverpool
Manchester City
Lids
West Ham
