TEAM TALK
According to an article in Monday's Daily Mail, the 27-year-old Brazil international midfielder's brother and adviser Roberto Assis has held two recent meetings with Blues owner Roman Abramovich.
The second is said to have been held at the weekend, with Abramovich flying Assis to London on his private jet and putting him up at an exclusive Mayfair hotel.
With money no object, the Russian billionaire is reputedly prepared to make Ronaldinho the highest-paid player in football and smash the world's transfer record.
A £85million buyout clause is included in the two-time FIFA World Player of the Year's current contract at the Nou Camp, which is due to expire in 2010.
Abramovich is reportedly desperate to inject more flair into the Blues squad and is prepared to eclipse the £47million that Real Madrid shelled out to Juventus six years ago for the services of Zinedine Zidane.
However, Barca sport director Txiki Beguiristáin has quickly moved to rubbish the story.
"We do not want to sell him," Beguiristáin told Catalunya Radio.
"Ronaldinho is our player and I'm totally convinced that he will remain at the club.
"In this aspect, the decision of Barcelona is clear."
Beguiristáin is not surprised that the Brazil star is being chased by other clubs, but is adamant that the player is going nowhere as he still has three years to run on his current contract.
"It's normal that any of the big clubs in the world desires Ronaldinho, but he has signed a deal with us," added Beguiristáin.
And Beguiristáin brushed off worries about Roberto Assis reportedly holding talks with Chelsea in London, saying: "This is a subject that does not interest me."
85 million buyout clause..wow :yikes:

What fukin shit. Chelsea want every player in this world thats why I couldnt give a rats ass about that club
"Are you Lennon in disguise?"
Wonder if Ronaldinhio actually wants to go there. I don't think he'd be able to recreate his form in the premiership, but hey if Chelsea really were prepared to pay 85million then he'd probably get a few quid a week in wages which he might not be able to turn down.

So which premiership club wouldn't want Ronaldinhio?

this is what you call bullshit :nodyes:
Ronaldinho wouldn't be able to handle the Premiership and paying 85 million is stupid. They already spent 30 on Sheva and he's not doing anything but age gracefully.
If this were to become true, it would be a true testament that Mourinho has no real say on acquisition of players, upper management are overstepping their boundaries. Well that's my opinion :boat:.
I was referring to the 'rubbish article [although i have nothing against Mr. Littlejohn] from the daily mail' MN1F!
I can't actually see them spending 85million on him. There not that stupid. If Ronaldinhio actually wants to leave the club then they'll have to accept lower offers for him. If he doesn't then he won't go for any amount.
Also when you've got a billionaire owner you can afford to pay big money, but as I just said I think this is just 'daily mail journalism at it's best'. Anyway you won't be saying that when the mersey yanks start splashing the cash.

Wow, that would be awesome. He is my favorite player and him being on Chelsea would be a great.
man utd nearly had them until traitor kenyon cancelled the deal as he moved.
Just wait till it happens, not the first time the richest club in the world have been linked with the most expensive player in the world.

Rumour has it, Ronaldhino was spotted talking with Ken Bates last week in a Leeds city centre restaurant.
Ron loves Gods county - Yorkshire, his favourite flower is The White Rose, Yorkshire Pudding and gravy is his favourite food, Northern boys love gravy.
His girlfriend lives in Bradford, the deal appears to be nearly signed and sealed.
The Beeston and District Pigeon Fanciers club will be subsidizing Ron's wages. So Chelsea let it lie.

In a 2004 interview Ronaldinho said this
"My brother, who is also my agent, has spoken to me about Chelsea many times. Any great player would want to be part of such a sensational team... I respect them a lot and can maybe see myself in London one day."
He may not be playing much with Barca with Eto'o, Messi, and Henry. So he may come here. With the buyout clause, Barca don't have a choice in when or if he leaves.

Good point, but I was watching the game yesterday and who ever was doing the commentary said that it was true. But a year is a long time and things change.
