Dennis Wise was today awarded the Divisional Manager of the month award.

This award will enhance Super Den's chances of becoming the England manager if Mclaren fails to guide the boys to the finals.

Well done Den and the Leeds.

Super Den has already masterminded the fantastically unbelievable 2-1 away win against the European Champions that are Nottingham Forest.

Keep the faith Darren, it is well known that Super Den is a big admirer of the Mossley Physio, there could be a job at England with a Mossley link.

How do you know that mate? I didn't think we had even got a physio now to be honest,:nodyes:

The Lilywhites, no Physio, outrageous.

Good knowledge Black Swan mate, but how do you know Dennis Wise knows anything about us or our physio?

He is a great admirer of non league football, he had to do his homework regarding the Non League situation.

After all until a few weeks ago, it was feasible that the EVIL
Men at the FA were ready to plunge Super Leeds out of the Football League and in to the Non League circuit.

Well our physio of old Matty Barass left, along with everyone else at the club at the end of last season. We now have a new board, a new management team, and a totally new squad apart from 1 player who played last season.

Black Swan

There you go, Mossley maybe looking for a new Physio, England may be looking for a new manager.

You should be starting a bring back Matty Barass campaign.

Sorry to wreck your thread mate, but can you name the ex England AND Leeds United manager who managed and played for Mossley?

Black Swan

The mightiest Don of all, Mr Don Revie.

Bring back Matty

No sadly that isn't the answer Black Swan.

Managed both Super Leeds and England.

Played for Leeds with 6 caps for England.

Oh I seem to have forgotten the last part of your question the Mossley link! I will get back with the answer, hopefully.

Darren
30-08-2007, 14:22
Let me clear this question up, this person managed both Leeds United and Mossley. He was in fact player-manager of Mossley, but DID NOT play for England at senior level as far as I know at least.:thumbup1:

Black Swan

So he didn't manage England?

Put me out o my misery, non of my LU manager links or knowledge lead me to Mossley.

Would be a very unwise choice if he became England manager.

Are you ready for the manager of the month curse?

Black Swan

Go on put me out of my misery, non of my LU manager links LEEDS me to Mossley.

It was Howard Wilkinson, sorry about confusing you. I even confused myself to be honest.:nodyes:

When did he manage you, it doesn't state that he did in the Leeds United profile of him. It does state that he entered coaching in 1971.

Also that in 1971 he joined the then Northern Premier League Club Boston United where he was firstly player /coach and later player / manager

He left Boston United then came to Mossley. In all the interviews/profiles of him we always get conveniently forgotten. I don't know why but he never seems to mention us, but he definetly was our player-manager.:thumbup1:

That's an interesting fact.

Anyway when Dennis gets the England job, he will obviously be calling on Howard to join back room staff, along with your ex (soon to be reinstated maybe) Physio, have you got the campaign going yet?

We couldn't afford him now to be honest. Our backers left at the end of last season, hence the reason everybody left. I really love loyalty don't you?:nodyes:

The only loyal people in football are the fans who follow the badge through thick and thin.

I am afraid the big £ rules most players, loyalty means nothing to most of them. They will kiss the badge one week and be off the next.

You stick with "your" team and enjoy supporting them, thats what loyalty is.

Enjoy your football and bring back Matty.

I will do that, but I am not sure about bringing back Matty. Our first game this season was at Garforth Town by the way, where we lost 2-1. Good luck to Leeds United this seson by the way.:thumbup1:

Garforth a tidy team, you must have played quite well.

I think Leeds will continue to give a good account of ourselves. That is until Big Den gets the England call. Howard get your coaching manuals dusted off.

Not really we lost 2-1, and one of our players broke his leg. It wasn't a very happy day to be honest.

I hope he sets fire to the trophy in the centre-circle on Saturday.

United boss Dennis Wise has been rewarded for a 100 percent start to the League One campaign by being named Coca-Cola League One Manager Of The Month for August.

Leeds and Leyton Orient, managed by Martin Ling, are the only two clubs in the entire league still with 100 percent starts to the season.

Wisey has presided over United's best league start for 12 years, but said his latest accolade counted for little in the wake of the club's 15-point deduction.

"It's very nice, but it means not too much to me to be honest," said Dennis.

"The Football League? After what they've done to us this is like a little tap on the back saying 'we do apologise, here's Manager Of The Month.

"It's laughable isn't it when we're bottom of the league? I'd rather have my 15 points back than Manager Of The Month.

"Nothing from the Football League this year will be going near my mantlepiece after what they've done to us.

"I just can't accept what they've done to us this year, but I don't want to harp on about it."

Big Den is right we have been shafted by the FA, but with the Alamo spirit down Elland Road way, we will one day be back where we belong.

Big Den today enhanced his chances of being the next England boss, with another fantastic result by his Storm troopers at the Fortress that is Elland.

100% and should be top o' league, but thanks to our friends at the sweet FA and all the gutless clubs that voted for the 15 point deduction we are still -3.

But it certainly is getting warmer in Gods City, it will soon be 0 points and rising.

Bring on the Hartlepool.
