Just interested to know who you think the best referee in the premiership is?
Hate them all:D
Steve Bennet I guess is a good no nonsense ref. Although opinions will be pretty divided I don't see the need for a Poll.

lol, nice one. Steve Bennett, decent experienced referee. Coming off the FIFA list at the end of this season because of his age.
Thing is it's quite hard for a fan to tell who the best ref is because a ref you don't remember is a good ref

I don't really know who is the best, i've not really thought about it. So i can't really answer this.
The one who did the United Chelsea match the other week. Howard Webb?

Howard Webb, correct. Highly rated referee. No fuss, and you wouldn't mess with him. He is a giant lol. Specially when you see him up close. He has been tipped to be the next English referee to referee the World Cup Final.

Out of interest how do you get so much contact with the pro refs mate? Are you in one of the refereeing academies or just in your local society?
He's a good ref. None of the drama of captain calamity Graham Poll.
God he's a poor ref.

I've been to meetings were Select group refs have been talking. And you get to know them there.

Best is Atkinson for me. Been a prem ref for a couple of years now, yet a lot of people havent heard of him. Low key, just gets on with the job. Wiley likewise trys not to grab attention. Both police officers ironically. As is Foy, another ref I rate highly. And Webb is a copper too. Seems our best refs are policemen too.
The new ones, Mason, who is now a prem ref, and Stroud, Tanner and Probert have impressed me in their premiership fixtures. Probert still has a bit to go yet though.
Best is still Atkinson. Worst on the SG is in my opinion Dowd. Still a bloody good ref, and I do like his style, but seems to panic too much around big decisions and get quite aggressive.

I don't really know as its always the bad ones that you remember not the good ones.
I remamber one game where Styles reffed and i thought he was quite good, it was the manchester derby, but according to fergie he'd received good hospitality so we must have had better decisions, but then i have seen him again and he has been not so good.

I agree. Just cuz of his 3 yellow cards in the world cup doesnt mean hes a bad ref. If he were bad he'll probably be in the Championship or League one etc..but hes not! I wonder if that says something as well as to why the FA still give him the big matches???

hahaha well you could say that but for as long as youve bin following football....hasnt graham poll bin there and always gotten appointed to the big matches??? that says a lot mate
