Just read the following on 606 website.

Everton have warned £11.25m record buy Yakubu to work harder or stay on the sidelines. (Various)

I know we are short of strikers but is this a surprise to anyone?

I think Yakubu needed to work harder about 12 months ago!

Yakubu needs to work harder, but he could sprint every second of the game and not get a goal the way we are playing, no creativity at all, hoofing it to Yakubu. If Yak's being kept on the bench for not working, Neville and Hibbert should be kept on the bench for not being able to pass, at all.

Completely 1 player team. No Arteta means nothing.

Yakubu needs to work harder,
.

doubt you'll get that.. he has a good goalscoring record for us, but he only scored when it was put on a plate to him, and penalties

Moyes will transform him in my opninion. If he doesn't work, he won't play, simple as, Moyes doesn't accept players not giving their all and isn't afraid to let them know, Beattie and Van Der Meyde examples.

Scored a goal and set up another last game, although it was against Sheff Wed. I agree, moysey wont stand for laziness, what you get from Vaughan, Mcfadden and Johnson is complete running throughout the whole 90 minutes and going for the victory.

If yakubu dosen't pull his weight hell be out of the team ;)

Yes he's playing good for you at the moment, wonder if he will keep it up or not.

If he wants to keep playing first team football he will.

He just might, and the only reason i say that is because David Moyes kept him on the bench when he wasn't putting his heart into it. The only thing is Yakubu is a lazy player and plays when he wants to. Maybe moving to Everton and being under another manager is a good thing. I mean, i'm not sure how many players really show Southgate much respect in the locker room. He doesn't seem like the great motivator.

I think Southgate lacks strength when it comes to making players work.

With all respect to his previous clubs, this is probably one of the first times in Yakubu's career he can't afford to be lazy and play bad, he has 4 strikers behind him more than capable off making the starting lineup, he has to give everything like he did today, scoring a hattrick, to keep his place.

always works better that way if there are players there wanting to come on, the players on the pitch have got to work harder
