Teddy Sheringham has revealed former Manchester United striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's knee problems were caused when he celebrated his amazing Champions League winner in 1999 against Bayern Munich.

Now with Colchester, Sheringham told the Sunday Times: "Do you remember when he slid on his knees after scoring the winning goal in the European final? Well, that's when he felt it. I remember him coming in after the game when everyone was celebrating and saying, 'I think I've hurt my knee'. And since then he's had a problem. It's a shame. He's a fantastic lad and probably the best all-round finisher I ever played with. "Now people will look at that and say, 'What? Better than Shearer? Better than Klinsmann?' But in terms of right foot, left foot and heading, he knew exactly where the goal was. He would put the ball through people's legs and in the corners. Brilliant."

:notworthy:Solskjaer is a legend!

all i knew was that he was out for the 1999 summer but didnt expect it to be the reason for all his problems. A legend. Shame he had to stop now as he was just getting his career back on track.
