John Carew has told compatriot John Arne Riise that he should move to Aston Villa.

Villa have been tipped to make a bid for Riise in January, with the Norwegian believed to be a long-standing target of manager Martin O'Neill.

Now Carew has backed his countryman to link-up with him in the Second City.

Most Liverpool fans I speak to who actually go the game don't rate him too much. I think he's good but I will take their judgement ahead of mine. The ones who don't really go the game rave over him, maybe due to his shots. Plus with Liverpool being after Heinze last summer shows Rafa maybe wants to replace him.

Aurelio seems to be getting back into the team aswell, since returning, could also be the reason he wants to leave..

He must have been at Liverpool quite a while now hasnt he.. might just want a new challenge

I always thought what a good player he was and maybe Liverpool don't use him in the right way but who knows? As people on here will know though I don't rate Rafa Benitez very much, and they won't win the Premiership while he is there.

I dont think Rafa will approve of this tho. He gives such good cover in times of need on that left flank and Riise is a keeper for Rafa i'm sure
