Then... McParland as a player at Notts

McParland has agreed a new two-year deal and is a popular choice amongst the fans who remember him as a talented and enthusiastic winger during Notts' heyday under Jimmy Sirrel in the 80s.

Held in the highest regard as a player, McParland must now do the same as boss as Notts strive to achieve promotion from League Two, despite currently sitting in nineteenth.

Thompson was fired after sixteen months in charge as the Board believed he should be making a playoff place so the pressure is on.

McParland's previous managerial experience amounts to a long spell as Nottingham Forest Reserve team boss before stepping in to manage the first team on a temporary basis after the sacking of Gary Megson.

Alongside Frank Barlow McParland took Forest to the brink of the League One playoffs and was named Manager of the Month aswell as instigating a ten match unbeaten run which included six straight wins.

McParland applied for the same role when Thompson was appointed last time but has kept in close touch at Meadow Lane and has been spotted watching from the Derek Pavis Stand in recent weeks.

Charlie McParlands Black and White Army!

Well Wolfben, I hope it is the beginning of your clubs resurgence.

It was the 1991-92 season when you dropped out of the top flight. Since then you lot have been on a downward spiral.

It is interesting to look back on that season for both County and Leeds fans. We won it that year, you came second bottom.

There were 22 teams in the league then, obviously less now. But only 9 teams still remain in the top flight from that season.

Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Villa, Everton, Chelsea, Spurs, the lucky Hammers and the red lot over the hill.

So many changes. I hope Charlie reverses your fortunes and County, the oldest professional team, steeped in tradition, start to climb up the league and indeed leagues:nod:

Youre making me sad:icon_redface::cry_smile:

It does make you sad when you think where we were and where we are. But we're lucky I guess, for Sir Mr. Grand Master holy'er than thou Green, who gave us 3 mil out of his own pocket to save us. Otherwise we were gonners. It makes me depressed that we're even in Mansfield's division, nevermind loosing to them. No disrespect intended.

We need to take a leaf from Leeds book, attitudes like '15 points, who gives a ****, we're super leeds and we're going up' are definetly attitudes that need to be adopted at the lane. Bunch of miserable gits. Cant wait til I go back to live, kick some life into the club.

UP THE MIGHTY NOTTS, and long live super Leeds:thumbup:
