I will be installing a new sidebar and placing 2 adverts on it. Please can I have some feedback, these banners will help to pay for the site. I am also thinking about having a paid section where there will be no adverts for just £1 per month.
I need your feedback though as you are the people who use the forum.
Thanks

well as long as theres a skin on the board where its ad free for the members thats all that matters, right now im using the purple one so I dont have to put up with that bar and the other ad that shows up in posts.

Yeah we will have a non ad version. :)
I'm going to see how much we make with the sidebar for this coming week as i'm off. If it doesn't perform then i'll probably end up removing it.

well you been doing forums long enough to know members aint keen on ads all over the place as well as popups but having skins ad free for members is a way out of pissing off so many ;)

Haha, I don't think anyone can really. Hopefully though, the new adverts will help fund the site as i'm broke at the moment and will be till the new year / when my wages will be sorted.

then go for a smaller package on your hosts till the forums backup and active, cant see it using much resources right now.

Nah its not, I already dropped down one level. There are loads of different ones now, guess it won't harm having a look at them.

understand that but saying that your paying a lot more when theres no need untill as I said when the forums get more active.
I think I've got to agree with HL here, if the forum can handle a smaller package then cut back a bit and save a bit of cash.

I think I might drop down to the lowest package and see how it handles. Should be fine as were not that busy. We could probably survive on a Shared hosting plan at the moment lol

funny; at home I can see the adverts but not at work.... may be it's something I have installed :eusa_think:. Adverts don't bother me and I click on them once in a while to help out (at least I hope it helps out :nodyes:); popups do annoy me, but with firefox hardly get any.

I don't care about ad. banners. They're better than pop-ups.

Meh, Seen worse. its ok for me because i have a firefox add-on that allows you to filter pop-ups and flash movies. So all i see is a white box.
I dont like the new sidebar, it makes the blue skin look tacky. I might switch between the purple and green wide skins

I've got used to it tbh. Been on for a day.
I see no adverts, although I do see the sidebar... It doesn't look too bad. Especially on a thinner version of the blue skin.
