View Full Version : Micheal Maidens
It's my sad duty to report the death in a car crash of Micheal Maidens the Hartlepool United player. Apparently this happened on Friday night, and the Swansea City V Hartlepool game was postponed yesterday as a mark of respect. The 20 year old midfielder who had played 29 games for Hartlepool also played for Blyth Spartans on loan.
RIP.

Yeah I drove past the crash site yesterday, it happened on the A174 near eston near the roundabout going onto the A174. Must have hit the lamppost as it was cut down with the black and yellow tape on and loads of flowers round it. Very sad, he was the passenger.

I was (and still am) on holiday when I heard about this. I saw that the pools game had been postponed and came on the computer to find out why. I was so shocked to hear that a 20 year old Michael Maidens had sadly been killed in a car crash. I can“t get my head around the fact that he was only on the field a couple of weeks ago and now this has happened.
Thoughts go to his family and his friends in the squad.

I know it´s my own team and everything so I´m bound to be bias, but what a wonderful thing for a team to do. It shows that our men are more than a team just on the pitch, but a team of people off the pitch, also.
I think I will be in tears :( What a tragedy.

Yes, definitely, everyone will be gutted, it saddens me just thinking about it as its a complete waste of a life. Obviously messing about in the car but it could have been malfunction of a mechanical part of the car but I very much doubt it.
Anyway all teams work together off the pitch and probably socialise together also. So they will al be completely gutted and I think you will have a good game as everyone will be up for the match just so they can win it for the fans for themselves and for Maiden.
R.I.P. Micheal Maidens :(
