Nationwide North club Barrow`s defender James Cotterill, who was caught on television punching Bristol Rovers youngster Sean Rigg during their FA Cup First Round tie, has been formally suspended from all football-related activities until March.
Cotterill has been charged with violent conduct by the Football Association after striker Rigg had to have two metal plates inserted in his fractured jaw.
An interim suspension was imposed on November 17th due to the serious nature of the incident.
Cotterill has already admitted a criminal charge of causing grievous bodily harm and will be sentenced at Lancaster Crown Court on January 5th.
