So ask the ref time.

It was my impression that a player taking a penalty was not allowed to stop during the run up to his penalty, they can do that slow thing as long as they keep moving forward. I bring it up as C Ronaldo's penalty the other day he clearly takes a step then stops then goes again.

Thanks for clearing this up

Dom

I don't think it should be allowed (not actually sure if it is or isn't) as it could cause the goalie to dive way before the ball's even been kicked. Although I don't think it is allowed, as everyone would do it as a means of making the goalie dive early so they could shoot the ball in the opposite direction :nodyes:

That depends on how clever/skilled the striker is.

a good keeper never falls for it no matter who's trying to con them

All keepers have their off-days. They aren't super human.

Aslong as the player taking the kick continues on his run up, and does not STOP on his run up, there are no problems.

When players like Ronaldo did what he did, that is against the LOAF, in my opinion.

:hahaha:. Its perfectly legal IMO. Just once he doesnt completely stop. What he does is sort of continue to 'slide' and make it look like hes running.
