Arsenal Have we got the worst refs in Europe?

Reffing Hell

This weekend was the first weekend for quite a while we saw no controversial decisions. Bolton were a little unhappy about the decision of a throw-in against them, even though it was the correct decision. Apart from this, there were not many referee mistakes to report. When was the last time we were able to say this?

After every weekend of games there seems to be some controversy over a refereeing decision. Is it a coincidence that Mr Clattenberg was not reffing this weekend? I am still can’t quite believe that Dirk Kuyt stayed on the pitch last week after his karate style tackle on Phil Neville. Now I know we have all felt like doing this to a Neville brother in the past but this was possibly the worst tackle I have seen since Le Grande Eric (Cantona) graced the Premier League. Maybe Dirk had been watching his Karate Kid DVD and Mr Miagi was in his thoughts as he launched himself at Neville. Whatever it was, it was scandalous that Clattenberg saw fit to only issue a yellow card.

And another thing, what has Jamie Carragher got to do to concede a penalty? I thought he was lucky to get away with his forearm smash on Eboue yesterday. I know Eboue is not the nicest of fellows and he does like to throw himself about a bit but I don’t think he deserved that. Last weeks effort against Everton, though is still one of greatest penalty escapes of all time. Has there been a more “nailed on” penalty? David Moyes must be wandering what his side has done to Mr Clattenberg. I fully expect to see Carragher wielding a Samurai sword next week and still getting away with his challenges in the box.

Roll on next weekend. The Rugby has gone and football is number 1 again. Arsenal v Manchester United, Saturday lunchtime. It doesn’t get any better. I take Arsenal to win 2-1.

Yes I think Arsenal will win also.

I don't think we have the worst refs. They are just being watched constantly, and EVERY bad decision gets noticed. They are only human as I keep saying and they interpret things differently, they should have a news conference with the refs after every game so we can get answers from them on any of their dodgy decisions.

Erm, rubbish.

There are plenty of weeks when there isn't a major decision that goes wrong.
