A massive must win game for Celtic. Shaktar have the class but Celtic need to produce the fight. Can our home record pull us through here??

I think it can although it will be tough!
Here's hoping both the Scottish teams can somehow make it past this round.

FFS McManus. The defence is a disgrace. Get the ball on the deck.

Well played Celtic. Done Scotland proud. The feel good factor is still sweeping through our game and long may it continue. Both teams with their place in the tournament in thier own hands.

It's still a big ask to get a point in the San Siro. Celtic had to concentrate on winning tonight rather than pushing for a 3-0.
aye still trundling along not good for the old ticker like
Celtic are lucky.:thumbup1:
i can see shaktar manager and Strachan argue or laugh chat after end of match what happen??!? :undecided:

Lupescu said prior to the game that we were lucky to beat Milan and Benfica. After last nights game he said we were lucky. Strachan said having 1 defeat in 15 home CL games wasn't luck.

What a ridiculous comment to make.

Agreed! Cetic are obviously a good team when teams come calling at Parkhead. I just hope the Gers can do the same.
even if ac beat celtic on the last game we can still get to the last 16 all we need is benfica to beat shakhtar

I can't see Benfica doing much. Celtic have to presume Shaktar will win.
How are you Slimtim, where have you been?
im not to bad mate. how are you ?
i have been to bussy downloading movies.
ps. you are right about celtic having to presume shakhtar will win but stranger things have happend. but i hope celtic get at least a draw.
but please god let the team get their 1st away win that would be great.

Celtic will qualify. At least I hope they do, just to keep the profile of our games rising. If our teams continue to progress as they have been there may be a chance of attracting some lucrative investers for our league.

Nae bad mate cheers. Stranger things have happened and at least they have the UEFA cup to play for. A Benfica win(unlikely though)would see them through. But I think Shaktar are a better team.

I'm not sure any progress would attract much outside interest in investing unless someone is interested in buying Murray's stake in Rangers?

I was talking of the likes of Sky. Maybe not really soon but if we can make it a regular occurance of performing well in Europe they might decide to offer the SPL a better package than Setanta or force Setanta to invest a bit more.

Lets hope so but I can't see it. We'd need to be back to the days of purchasing big players like Laudrup and Larsson for Sky to be bothered. Still, ye never know.

Well, we need money we currently haven't got for those guys. I think our best hope is forsome incarnation of a European league. That's the only way we'll be able to afford high calibre players. I can't see that happening for some time either.

It's been proven that big money isn't needed for moderate success. Rangers have spent 10 million in pre season and almost through to the latter stages. Celtic must have spent around the same or maybe less. It just goes to show that when youth is given a reasonable enough chance that things will work out. Aberdeen had no money to spend but made it to the group stages of the uefa cup.

The reason he is that wealthy is because he's never been daft enough to channel it straight into the bank accounts of primadonna footballers. I can see why he wants to make Celtic a self sufficient business. Although part of me would like to see him blow some cash on big players.

We aren't talking moderate success though. The Old firm must dream of being on a level playing field with the big boys. Ain't going to happen until a Euro league comes along.
