A city council has ordered Celtic to re-paint its new storefront - because it says the green is too bright.
The Celtic store opened in Dundee two weeks ago, but the local council said it had received complaints about the shop's bright green exterior.

Planners have now instructed the Glasgow football club to submit a new shade of green for the store within 14 days.

A spokesman for the club said it would comply with the regulations.

Celtic currently operates 15 stores across Scotland and Ireland selling club merchandise.

'Darker shade'

A Dundee City Council spokesman said the shop was situated in a conservation area and that its paintwork was deemed too bright.

He said: "The owner of the Celtic shop was sent a letter informing him that he had not requested planning consent to paint the frontage of his premises.

"He has been asked to reply within 14 days and submit a sample of the colour he intends to change it to.

"This is because it is in a conservation area. There was also a suggestion in a letter he change it to a darker shade of green."

A spokesman for the Parkhead club said: "This is the first time we have ever encountered any issue of this kind. However, clearly we would comply with any regulations put in place."

It does look brighter than the shirt colour tho.almost like lime green.

Should maybe make the fookers paint it blue to match the shop next door.

What's the problem? Someone just needs to pop down to the B&Q for a darker shade.
