There has been loads of speculation as to who is the best referee we have in England following the retirement of Graham Poll.

Who do you reckon it is?? Also please give a view as to why you chose that referee.

I'd have to go with Webb. He knows how to let the game progress and is there when he needs to be.

tbh the way to judge refs are to think of the ones that dont get into controversial situations ..... and welll imo howard webb is my best bet

Yeh i agree. He was. Now Scotland have someone called Stuart Dougal who is absolute shite! I mean have a look at this YouTube - Török-Magyar Gera kiállÃÂ*tása (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxyERFCxUDE&feature=related)

What a shame to Scottish refereeing

Wiley for me, but Mike Dean in a close second.

Wiley has brilliant man-management skills, uses the advantge rule well, and 97% of the time, gets the big decisions right.

Webb for me, you never hear about him so he must be good. You only hear about the controversial reffs who I think do it for the attention.

I thought Mike Dean was brilliant Wednesday night for Arsenal v Tottenham.

bennet is appalling, i seem to remember styles, wiley and clattenberg being poor and i can't remember seeing atkinson or clattenberg, so they were either decent or we've never had them

i think howard webb is decent, but having only seen him in brief moments of televised games, and with it being impossible i will ever see him live, i can't say he's the best

Webb for me. Never really see him do anything wrong and can't recall the last time he made/didn't make a controversial decision.

Ive gone for Webb as best but the one I like the most has to be the great Mark Clattenberg (Cant see Gem or 4141 agreeing):nodyes::nodyes::nodyes:

You'll never have Webb matey. He's from Rotherham which classifies as South Yorkshire.

You're quite right. All this is primarily the reason why he has been selected to represent England at the Euro's. At least England will be represented somehow ha ha!
