how would i go about burning a DVD.
e.g.
Format?
What program to use:confused:
Nero 6...burning software.;)
i have that, but when i got 2 set it all up it loads fine. so i add the file. it says about resizing the file to fit on disk, so i resize it. then i click next and it comes up with that preview of how it will look but it doesn't pay on mine. why is this?

Hi Tim is it ok for me to assume that you have
never burned a dvd before?
as is normally the case it is easy when you
know how but what are you trying to burn
and what is your source and stuff ?

I'm not sure if I can help Tim
I have burned a few dvds but
in my mind i need to to know
for instance where is the source
for example I sometimes record football
on tv and record them to dvd
it may be that I dont understand what you
mean
but I need to start from a source
and then decide the software and media
to complete the job
sorry if this is not helpfull
:)

also the file format would be handy, ie .mov or .mp4
Is it a dvd movie you are trying to do? You gotta convert it first. Seeing as the video you have is obtained illegally, you wont mind more illegal things helping you out.
I suggest a program called vso convert x to dvd. That will convert your dvd to the proper dvd video format. after that I can explain more for you.

that's the software I use. Before finding that I used to do 2-3 different conversions with different software.
If you are burning a dvd with material downloaded ConverX2dvd is your best choice, same may be true if the source file(s) are from your digital camera.
does xtodvd burn it ok for you? It never seemed to do it on mine so I ended up using nero
