Whereabouts in Eastbourne do they play? I thought they were out Langley way but I thought I reckonised those flats as closer to the town centre.

There's two teams in Eastbourne, it's Eastbourne Borough who play in Langley (used to be known as Langley Sports FC).

Now, where did I put my anorak?

Eastbourne could do with just one team.

That is like saying that there should be one team in Glasgow.

Amalgamation takes away a teams history, tradition and identity.

If my club amalgamated with another, I would never pay to watch another game.

It's nothing like the same as Glasgow. Neither side have poor attendances. Borough were recently quite happy to change their identity.

You are right, amalgamation could be a great idea for both Eastbourne and Glasgow.

I have a vision.

The 2 mighty clubs of Glasgow unite, their new ground is called The Cathedral of Love.

Both green and blue would be incoporated in the new club colours.

The white of both clubs would be incoporated in the clubs new emblem, The White Dove.

The new club name of Glasgow United would bring the people of Glasgow together as one to make the city a friendlier and better place to live.

Bring on amalgamation for both Eastbourne and Glasgow, because the attendance at Celtics last home game was well low.

On that basis, let's see Leeds United and Manchester United. Both United as one.

Ah Hail Hail my fellow visionary.

But you must be realistic and practicably with your ideas. Unfortunately the logistics of your proposed merger would rule it out. The distance of 44 miles, for one.

Nevertheless a scum/Manchester City [City, the real Manchester side] amalgamation is a viable proposition.

But back to Glasgow United, it was a comment by one of your fellow Scots, SA, regarding a "diddy league" that got me thinking about the real "diddy league" because with only 12 teams in it, the Scottish Premier League is truly a "proper diddy league"

So why not go the whole hog - Glasgow United, Dundee United/Dundee, Hearts/Hibernian the list goes on, your league would reduce even more.

After all you love "wee" things up in Scotland.

So the Eastbourne idea of yours, the Glasgow idea of mine, great minds.

I indeed share the Swan's vision, the Scottish League is fairly dismal and it could be the future.

As a Leeds United fan you're better used to diddy leagues than most. Particularly seeing as your debt ridden club hasn't seen the Champions league for some time.

Any chance you can stick to thread from now on?

I have stuck to the thread.

You stated that Eastbourne should have one team.

I merely stated my views on the subject of teams merging. Adding Glasgow to the scenario, because regardless of how "big" or "small" a club is, I believe the vast majority of fans would be against a merger.

You replied, I added further scenarios, you replied, I added and then you state I have gone off thread.

I have mentioned Eastbourne in my posts, so I have kept on thread.

You should not have started such scenarios in the first place. What has Glasgow got to do with Eastbourne in this respect? It has nothing to do with it because as I pointed out both Glasgow teams(i.e the Old firm)have good supports. Your arguement thus dismissed, time to return to thread. But you didn't. It seems simple to me. But you want to make an inane arguement out of it.

Amalgamation was the reference.

Simply an opinion on your ideal.
