Just wondering what everyones views where for the 2 footed 'tackles'.

I can't believe Avram Grant had the cheek to come out yesterday and say the Carvalho didn't deserve a Red, because 'he went for the ball'!!!

Makes me laugh....really does.

It depends, if the ball was won and or if the opposing player is caught.

Whats your view on Keane and Zokora's dismissals and then not having the 3 match ban lifted? Do you think they were wrong?

I can't see properly BUT!!!

I can still talk sense, what we need is video replays, its not hard to impliment, it won't slow the game down!!! Get it up and runnig now. Let the red decide when it should be used.

I disagree BB. A video replay will take too long. It is a complicated process and the referee has to make instantaneous decisions on what he sees. Who will ask for the video replay? and sometimes teams will use the appeal of a replay frivolously.

No its not, if he gets the ball first then its not a foul haha. Nah it wouldn't take that long. I'm all up for replays.

Video replays is the only way. It works in rugby and cricket.

It's very difficult to bring in video replays for two footed challenges as they're down to opinion, there is not a specific point at which a challenge becomes a red card. It isn't black and white, it's down to the interpretation of the referee.

The obvious ones the referee should be getting right. If he gets it wrong and sends someone off incorrectly, he should have the balls to admit he got it wrong and go back on his decision, or the FA overturn the ban. Again all about interpretation.

But with the replay the video ref will be able to clearly see if its a lunge!! He will have a bit more time to make a decision rather than the ref making a split decision,

That indirectly takes away the spirit and fast flow of the game BB. I know you wont agree but that's just my opinion.

Oh I forgot two footed lunges ALWAYS occur every minute of the game!!! Think about it, it they hardly happen so the video evidence would not get used that much.

But it seems the FA won't overturn a ban, especially for 2 footed tackles. Or am I wide off the mark and Zokora's tackle a red card?

Zokora's tackle was definitely a red card. Its a two footed challenge regardless if he made contact or not. To make matters worst, it was Steve Bennett...the biggest manufactured referee in the world who aint afraid to send off anyone! On the topic of the FA overturning any red card, 99% of the time appeals are turned down quite rightly in my view as that questions the integrity of the referee in my view. Others will disagree I'm sure...
