Icon7 Foreign Players & England Team

I hate the fact that some England "supporters" are claiming that a lack of English players in the premiership is the reason for Englands failure to reach Euro 2008!

If you are telling me that Gerrard, Terry and Rooney and about several others are not good enough for the England shirt you are definetly wrong. A mixture of poor management and low morale was the key to the croatia flop. We have a team of players that are all at top clubs.

England didn't have an on-form goalkeeper which is why Carson who couldn't even get in Liverpool's team played. Robbo and James had consistantly made mistakes before hands and Carson was prepared as he, like the nation presumed he'd be on the bench.
England has 4 World Class right-wingers, no other nation could say that, with Wright-Phillips, Lennon, Bentley and Beckham all good enough for most Nations.
And all the England team are getting in the team for good Premiership sides (apart from Michael Owen because he's always injred). Robinsons a regular for Spurs in the UEFA Cup. Neville and Ferdinand plays for Man Utd in the Champions League, Ashley Cole and John Terry the same as Neville and Ferdinand exept for Chelsea. SWP is getting in Chelsea's side also with Lampard and Joe Cole. Gerrard plays every week for Liverpool and you don't often say that with Rafa's on going rotation policy, and Rooney gets in Man Utd's team every week.

carson might not have got into liverpools side, but they were so desperate to keep him in 2006 that to put us off they trebled his wages- and now they want £10million for him. says alot about him

Keeper was a weak link but neither of the 4 wingers Rob mentioned were world class imo. Like most things, it was a mixture of awful management, not having enough players to pick from, which shouldn't be a problem for a country like ours...as good as gerrard, rooney, terry are you can't win matches with 3 players and no confidence.

Scott Carson is SHITE, he is utter rubbish. He makes loads of mistakes, i'd rather have David James in goal he's been solid this season. This is why I can't wait for Fabio Capello to do the team for the Switzerland match in february. He doesn't care about the big players, he'll play who he wants.

David James would be my choice if it was a game which meant something ie: a qualifier or a tournament in near future(ouch!)
He is having a great season, He makes mistakes but every keeper does & he is now more consistant than he used to be!
But I think it is time to try and find a keeper for the future.
Scott Carson is far from Shyte, Croatia game apart, and he is one of a few young keepers who have a chance of making the no 1 spot his own.
To be honest as long as Robinson is overlooked there will be an improvement as soon as Cappello picks his 1st side.

so carsons **** because of one mistake for the national team- so david james' hundreds should exclude him, same for robinson, looks like lee grant could get a chance
