Alright I know we are well overdue for the League, and we have Manure closing in on our title count.
I know that our European record is outstanding & wont be rivalled for many, many years.
But I still want to win "Ole Big Ears" as much as ever.
The title has become a burden & for that reason only it would be my 1st choice trophy but if all things were equal I would pick the glory of Europe every time.
I am old enough to remember winning the title(many times) and great times as they were they come 2nd to winning the Biggest trophy in European football!
From the top of your head how many of you know how many Spanish titles Madrid or Barca have won?
How many times have AC Milan or Ajax won their domestic leagues? Not many of you I bet! But if asked how many European Cups those above teams have won I'm sure you would fare much better! Get my point?
I agree with the opinion that the Premiership is our "bread & butter" But im talking of the glory ,the travelling, the occasion! For me it will always be the Best Trophy to win!
I agree also that the Premiership is harder to win nowadays but the European Cup is by no means Easy! Just ask Fergie & Wenger!

Nah its time to focus on the prem. You really need to get that title under your belt to maintain your status as a world class club. Cups can always feature elements of luck, but a prem title would prove your class.

If you read my post correctly you would seen I have acknowledged the fact that we need to win it & That its harder to win!
My point was The European Cup is the best to win as a fan when all things are equal.
You could only really appreciate what i mean if you have experienced both winning Leagues & Euro Cups!

Good thread.

Europe is probably the one the fans win just because of the glamour, I've spoken to some pool fans who say win or lose seeing your team on the continent are teh best matches.

That said the premiership is a better measure of quality. The nature of football means that anyone can beat anyone...the FA Cup illustrates this well...but the best teams will come good over a long period of time.

For the last few years Liverpool have never focused seriously on the premiership and instead gone for Cups, which is understandable, but if they are to be considered a big club they HAVE to win the prem.

I say go out and win... regardless if its a league or European match.
