It's just been announced that Shearer has said he would take the job if formally offered it!
He must ave heard what they are offering Redknapp:nodyes:
I'd love to see Shearer at Newcastle. Always admired the guy but not sure if he's ready to take over yet.

If he doesn't get it it's Gonna make it hard for whoever gets the job now he has thrown his hat in the Ring!

Isn't this just sentimentality taking over. Shearer has no experience of managing any club. Yet alone the poisoned chalice that is Newcastle FC.

Aye,seems worse than the England managers job!
Are they ever gonna give a manager a decent chance?.

I say Shearer should get the job... so that all the fans see what a bad mistake it was.
He has done nothing since leaving international football to get his badges or any type of managerial experience. If he does get the job I see Newcastle not doing better than where they are right now.

Redknapp still favourite
Harry Redknapp is undecided about accepting the Newcastle job after being tempted with £20m to buy new players. He’s also been told that he can use owner Mike Ashley's private jet to fly him to and from his home on the South Coast. Portsmouth will be given £3m in compensation if he does decide to leave Fratton Park and the cost of sacking Allardyce and recruiting Redknapp could cost Newcastle £9m. Portsmouth will fight like **** to hold on to Redknapp and have told Newcastle they face a fight to secure his services. If Newcastle fail to land Redknapp then Blackburn manager Mark Hughes is next on their list.

why do you need badges to lay a few cones out?
and he has no experience- so what. why do people use that as a reason not to appoint him at newcastle, but for him to go lowere down? if newcastle don't want to take the risk why should anyone else?
Shearer to be appointed and Newcastle get relegated would be an alternative outcome!
