Daniel Jarque the Espanyol centre back who is highly rated throughout Europe has been reported to have been in London this week having lunch with Spurs manager Juande Ramos.

you need a centre back as badly as newcastle. I do think there is a case for looking at the lower leagues, look how well Lescott and Cahill have done stepping up.

Seems as if Jarque is in talks with Spurs, he didn't feature for Espanyol neither was he there, he was in london in talks with us.
CB seems to be sorted.
There's so many rumours going round regarding transfers to Tottenham that it's hard to keep up and know which is genuine. Over the last few days I've heard of TEN new players supposedly coming to The Lane.

Theres another 2 reportedly coming, and apparently Van Buyten wants to come on loan.
It will be good to see who actually does come.

yes looks a good little player. quick and skillful but looks a bit on the weak side. needs to toughen up bit if he wants to be a good player.
He certainly isn't ready to be given first team football every week

Half of them we either don't need or I would want! Okay, we do need a LM because although Malbranque is doing well there he is better off in the centre with Jenas, Downing fits the bill (albeit I'd prefer Pedersen), will we get him?
We don't need any keepers, if Robinson wants to knuckle down he can become the keeper we saw in the 05/06 season. Until then Cerny is brilliant cover for him.
Negredo and Kanoute - Why are we linked with them? We have the best strike force in the premiership (definitely now questionable) and yet we are linked with more!
Daniel Jarque is what we need, and all we need other than a LM!

Been havin this debate wiv a spurs mate of mine and he really rates him.(even above Lennon at the minute). He is quality but 3 Mill..? Would do well in the championship. Maybe we should get him on loan then you lot can look at him better..?

Definitely not better than Lennon, we should keep him though. A loan would be good but there is no real point! His contract runs out soon and he won't sign another knowing that he won't get games. But he isn't worth 3 million either! That's what panic-buying does for you!

Downing wouldn't be our worst buy aiming for the top 6 or so. At the moment I'd say KP Boateng or Kaboul are, no matter how much I like the lads - they aren't quite cutting it yet.
I have to admit, Bale and Downing on the left would be an interesting combination.

hes good at crossing and delivery from freekicks, but he cant shoot from freekicks
