It would seem that Tottenham are looking to strengthen in every position, with Lyon's Brazilian forward Fred, Middlesbrough's winger Stuart Downing and Espanyol's defender Daniel Jarque the clubs three main targets.
I’ve heard that Spurs offered £8m for Stuart Downing on Sunday. The Sun and The Guardian have both said that we will offer goalkeeper Paul Robinson as part of any deal that sees Downing come to White Hart Lane. Surely if that’s true, then the rumors that Ajax's Martin Stekelenberg and West Ham's Robert Green are true.
In a previous post I said that Daniel Jarque had been seen in London with Ramos but now Espanyol have denied that any contact has been made between the two clubs.
Yesterday it looked certain that Brazilian Fred was on his way to White Hart Lane, and if you look at the sport page in The Sun Online today Spurs move is right said Fred | The Sun |HomePage|Sport|Football (http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/article687441.ece) that would seem to be the case. But now I’ve heard the player has rejected personal terms with the club.
Sometimes I just wonder that we’ve got the players here to succeed and all we really need is a Roy Keane type midfield general who will contribute to the team’s defending.
