Newcastle confirm Kevin Keegan will make a dramatic return to manage the club.
What do you think, Newcastle fans, can he turn it around?

Thats quality, good move by Newcastle. I think he will have a hard time though, but should keep your from relegation.

Excellent move. I just hope them Geordies would stop being so demanding of every manager they've had over the last couple of years.

They are demanding because they are desperate to win somthing. Thats because they are shite though.

Give him till the end of the season when Newcastle are relegated. Shouldn't happen like, but it would be very funny hahahahahaha.

I was surprised by this.... I had seen the BBC's rss feed that Coleman quit Real Sociedad and has sure he would be heading for Newcastle but was totally shocked by the Keegan announcement.

Hopefully he can salvage this season and build up for the next one(s)

How long before they sack him. Although i think king Kevs signing has made a dramatic effect already with the 4 - 0 win. I do like Keegan

He'll have walked within a year when he's realised he can't deliver. There's no way Newcastle will ever challenge for the Prem or compete in Europe yet that's what the fans seem to expect. The same fans that have all appeared on mass during the 90's. It's funny how every single Newcastle fan seems to have never missed a game in 30 years apparently, yet Oldham Athletic had a higher gate average in the early 90's. Someone's lying. Manchester and Liverpool both accommodate two big clubs in their cities yet Newcastle only have one and they're still poorly supported in comparison historically.

That is a brilliant post regarding average attendances.

Any manager, unless they have Romans coins will need at least 6 years to even think of challenging the "big boys" for the Prem title.

Keegan may be lucky and win a cup, but the Prem forget about it.

Hope it works well for him but I can't see it. Going back is never an easy option and he if you look at what he did in his last job and I think the board have bowed to pressure from the fans. I don't see what's on his CV that makes him right for the Newcastle job especially given how demanding the fans are.

I give him a max of 6 months. He can't handle pressure.

I wonder if they'll give him more time because of his past record though, like 6 years to win FA Cup, Premiership, Champions League, Carling Cup as well as going to the moon and back instead of 6 months...

it would be a slap in the face of Allardyce that his replacement gets more time to do something.

I don't understand why Allardyce wasn't given more time. The club was it the perfect position to give him time... middle of the table, not in Europe and far enough away from relegation.
