Joey Barton will be available to play for Newcastle for the next two months after being bailed at a court hearing.
The midfielder was arrested in Liverpool on 27th December following a Boxing Day night out with friends, when it is alleged he and other members of his group were involved in two separate incidents.
Barton was remanded in custody before being released on conditional bail on 3rd January.
He returned to court on Wednesday to face charges of assault and affray occasioning actual bodily harm.
The 25-year-old did not issue a plea and was bailed to reappear before magistrates in Liverpool on 12th March.

if he were any other profession he would have been banged up years ago. It;ll be interesting how Keegan handles him, the low life. I have absolutly no time for him at all.

I find it hard to understand a guy who posts about a lowlife, when he has on this forum admitted to smashing a bar up in London, and who today posted on this forum on another thread, that he enjoys "fighting" as much as the football.
Seems a little contradictory IMHO.
Every one in society has a responsibility, regardless of their salary.
Innocent until found guilty.

Where is slepp, you have got nothing that I desire, and you have avoided answering in a serious manner so I will leave it be.

You have gone off thread and are bragging about a car, not impressed.

He wont be sent down I know for a fact he wont.
He should be though, he should be locked up & then when he gets out he should be banned from footy for 5 years.

Why he's in court?
He's in court for assault, with his brother & this other girl. His brothers been charged with assault.
Also, did you see what he done to Dabo? (Ages ago I know but still)

So you automatically assume he is guilty, that he should be jailed, and that he should be banned from earning a living for 5 years.
I think your desire for Barton to be tried justly is very admirable, but as a Toon fan I think the way thuggish behaviour and trouble follow him completely devalue him as a player. There are other players with equal talent and far more professionalism and team spirit that I would rather see at the club any day. So regardless of whether he's innocent of this latest allegation or not I think Keegan should dump him a.s.a.p.
