Kevin Keegan has revealed he will approach Alan Shearer about a role at Newcastle after taking over as manager.
Keegan was paraded at St James' Park after succeeding Sam Allardyce - and confirmed he will hold talks with the former Newcastle captain.
The 56-year-old Keegan said: "I want to bring the very best to Newcastle.
"If there is a role that Alan wants, and is right - that's the key - then I would love to have him back here. I will definitely be speaking to him."

there was a bloke on talksport who says that he doesn't think shearar should join the team at the moment, and he should wait his time and get the glory he deserves by waiting to become manager in his own right
