There are important days ahead for Liverpool Football Club. At the moment the question is whether Tom Hicks and George Gillett will sell to Dubai International Capital or if they are committed to Liverpool enough to invest money so that they can build a new stadium. But whoever the eventual owners are, it is vital that they also provide funds to explore the transfer market too. If they don’t, then how can they expect to challenge Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd for the Premiership title?
Liverpool have a big fan base and need a 60,000 capacity stadium, like The Emerates. I think Anfield holds about 45,000 now. That’s nothing compared to the 76,000 that Old Trafford can hold.
If Liverpool want to be successful in the top league again, they need to invest in a new stadium and bring in better players to the club. And they need to do it sooner than later.
