View Full Version : Does Keegan have regrets?
I’m wondering if King Kev has been lured into the job at Newcastle under false pretences. He won’t be able to strengthen the squad before tomorrow’s deadline although there had been talk that Mike Ashley would provide him with a blank cheque book so he could add to a squad.
After Newcastle’s failure to sign Jonathan Woodgate from Middlesbrough and Giles Barnes from Derby County, it’s unlikely Keegan will have the opportunity to bring in any new players. They’ve got some decent players coming back from the African Nations Cup in a couple of weeks. Maybe Keegan and the rest of the staff at Newcastle think they will be sufficent to carry the team through to the summer.
I’ve got a feeling that by the summer, Newcastle could be in the bottom half of the table and Keegans job could be on the line.
I hope I’m wrong on both accounts.

Yeah they will be in the bottom half, hopefully in the bottom three. That would be so funny. Obviously its not nice, with anyone losing their job. But to be honest he's played Arsenal twice and they are a quality side. We play them on Sunday at 13:30 and I just hope we can humiliate them. But knowing boro will will end up losing.
Like anything, he needs time. It was never going to be easy and people expect things to happen straight away, well they don't!!!

I think the board are in it for the long term, i also think that Keegan's appointment was just a bit of PR, to get the fans back on side.

:nodyes: Nice one!

Very true. But wasn't Keegan supposed to go there and turn things around? With no money to buy new players and only the current squad to work with, it looks a tall order.
