Tottenham and Portsmouth have agreed a fee for Jermain Defoe, leaving the player to decide whether he wants to move to Fratton Park.
The 25-year-old striker is out of contract at Spurs at the end of next season and has been linked with a move while negotiations have been unresolved.
He has also struggled for regular opportunities under head coach Juande Ramos, with the Spaniard preferring Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov in attack for important matches.

What's the general opinion of people on here about Jermain Defoe? I have always rated him quite highly, yet no one else seems to. Is it just me again?:nodyes:

He's put pen to paper for Portsmouth. Just waiting for the clubs to announce it.

Sad to see him go. Kind of surprised really, I thought his heart was with Tottenham. He's been messed about alot but always seemed to hang in there and do his best. Wish really that they'd of tried to sell Bent and keep Defoe but maybe I'll be proved wrong and Bent will come good.

he deserves a decent run to see if he's as good as we all think he is from his cameo's. think this is bad news for Nugent.

Bent is an upgrade too Defoe!

Faster, taller, younger, better finisher. Just needs more of a run in the side. Yeah, it's a shame to see Defoe go.

Lets hope he doesn't come back to bite us on the arse.
