Gareth Bale has had his cast removed today as he continues his recovery from a sprained ligament in his right foot.

The 18-year-old suffered the injury in our Premier League match against Birmingham City in December and although the Wales international is making good progress he is expected to be out for the remainder of the campaign.

"Gareth's injury was reviewed today and although the surgeon was happy with the results of the X-rays he does not anticipate Gareth being able to play any further part in this season," said Sporting Director Damien Comolli.

"We are all disappointed for Gareth, but he is still very young and his long-term fitness is our priority."

It's a shame because he was becoming a really good player for us, hopefully Chimbo or Gilbo will fill in well while he is gone.

Cya next season lad :thumbup1:

Damn, damn and thrice damn but sort of expected it.

Would have fitted into the side perfectly right now. Not bothered about Chimbonda now. Got very little time for him, but can't wait to have Gilberto make his debut.

While Steed's having such a good season I'm not too worried about Bale not fitting in on the wing.

Despite being a Hornets fan, I also follow Spurs... in case you were confused!

Hello Yiddo! Did Chimbonda play left-back Saurday?

Yeah, I forgot you said you supported Watford. Thought we had another Yid on the forum for a minute. :nodyes:
